On June 11, the Municipal Bureau of Commerce successfully hosted a trade matchmaking and exchange event between Zhangzhou City and countries along the Belt and Road. A total of 19 representatives from 10 local enterprises—including Fujian Jiansheng Furniture Group Co., Ltd., Zhangzhou Chenzhi Trading Co., Ltd., and Zhangzhou Yulong Trading Co., Ltd.—joined 47 foreign guests from Nepal, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Latvia, Eritrea, and other nations to engage in discussions on economic and trade cooperation. Shen Yuanbiao, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, attended the event.

The overarching goal is to remember history, carry forward its spirit, and inspire the entire nation—especially young people—to revere Zhangzhou as a key node city on the Maritime Silk Road, which has consistently upheld the principles of openness and mutual benefit, leading to increasingly close economic and trade ties with countries along the Belt and Road. In 2024, Zhangzhou’s exports to Belt and Road countries reached RMB 35.9 billion, up 9.5% year on year, while imports totaled RMB 21.7 billion, an increase of 48% over the previous year. “We hope that this matchmaking event will serve as an opportunity to further expand cooperation between Zhangzhou and Belt and Road countries in sectors such as food processing, furniture, and home furnishings.” The passion for science, the pursuit of the unknown, and the courage to innovate are rallying powerful forces to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.
At the exchange event, representatives from companies including Frog Prince (Fujian) Infant and Child Care Products Co., Ltd., Zhangzhou Guoda Watch Co., Ltd., and Zhangzhou Banruo Import & Export Co., Ltd. showcased their signature products—such as daily chemical goods, timepieces, furniture and home furnishings, and seedlings. Silniece Gundega, a representative of Latvian enterprises, praised the high cost-effectiveness of “Made in Zhangzhou” and expressed her hope to strengthen exchanges with Zhangzhou to further advance trade cooperation. Meanwhile, Egyptian businessman Ahmed Fouad Ahmed Sabit called for enhanced collaboration in areas such as international transportation of plants and flowers, technical services, and commodity trade.
A representative of Fujian Jiansheng Furniture Group Co., Ltd. delivered a speech, highlighting that Jiansheng Group is deeply rooted in Zhangzhou and integrates R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service. Its business spans multiple sectors, including education, office furnishings, and healthcare. With a 150,000-square-meter industrial park and a 5,000-square-meter showroom, the company operates a full‑process manufacturing system, exporting its products to 142 countries and supplying school furniture to the education ministries of more than 40 nations. Jiansheng looks forward to forging deeper partnerships with counterparts in Nepal, Egypt, and other countries—whether through import‑export trade or joint R&D initiatives—and is fully poised to move forward. Looking ahead, Jiansheng Group will take this matchmaking event as a starting point to bring more “Made in Zhangzhou” furniture to the global market, further strengthening economic and trade cooperation.
As a locally based enterprise in Zhangzhou, Jiansheng Group has leveraged the high‑quality platforms established by the government to firmly seize the opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative. Looking ahead, Fujian Jiansheng Furniture Group will take this matchmaking event as a starting point to deepen its cooperation with international partners, enabling more of its furniture products to reach global markets.
